How can I get rid of the thick vines growing over the safe in the laboratory?

  • 1 of 14: This is the main puzzle of this chapter, and as such, it's a biggie.
  • 2 of 14: First of all, before you can even attempt to create a solution, you are going to need to have restored both the water and power to the lab.
  • 3 of 14: After the water and power are both flowing, you can create a solution.
  • 4 of 14: You can read through the information on the boards here, and learn that the plants in this station can be carnivorous in nature -- meaning they eat other plants.
  • 5 of 14: The goal here is to create one of these carnivorous plants, and set it loose on the vines growing over the chest.
  • 6 of 14: If you head into the rear section of the lab (through the hanging vines), you will find a couple of different types of seeds, and some fertilizer.
  • 7 of 14: You will also find a flower box, just outside the greenhouse, to the left.
  • 8 of 14: You will also need a sample of fresh soil, which you can find outside.
  • 9 of 14: Head down to the pumpkin patch and you will see it on the floor.
  • 10 of 14: Once you have these items, and a supply of water, you are ready to go.
  • 11 of 14: Take one each of the two types of seeds, and place them into the flower box along with the fertilizer.
  • 12 of 14: Now use the faucet to add water to the tray.
  • 13 of 14: After the plant has grown, you can simply pick it up and take it over to the vine-covered chest.
  • 14 of 14: Use the plant with the vines and it will eat them away, leaving you to contemplate the chest.
