Journey: The Quest Begins Hints
What can Praxix do with the pits?
of 8: Have you tried to enter any of the pits?
of 8: If you enter the pit closest to the control room, you'll find out what the purpose of the mill is, and you will be able to get out again.
of 8: You can only enter the other two pits by casting Elevation, but that presents a big problem. If you enter the middle pit, you will become trapped, and become severely depleted of essences, but you will notice something important, namely the pickaxe there. If you enter the furthest pit, you will be severely depleted of essences, but you will at least be able to leave via the exit.
of 8: You need to find a way to get the pickaxe, and still be able to leave.
of 8: Have you experimented with the controls in the control room?
of 8: If you set the left dial to the symbol accompanying the second pit, and the right dial to the symbol accompanying the first pit, you can get the pickaxe into the shallow pit. You can then mine the essences.
of 8: You can escape from the mill in the same way.
of 8: Set the left dial to the symbol corresponding to the first pit, and the right dial to the symbol that corresponds to the third pit. (Unfortunately, there is no way to determine this, since the rune by the third pit has been obliterated, so you must save restore until you get it right.) You can then leave the mine.
