Keepsake Hints
How do I get inside the second trial room -- and complete the second trial?
1 of 8: First you'll have to find the second trial room door.
4 of 8: Once you are on the balcony with the second trial, you should see a carved mechanism with two levers, one on each side. Lydia can also look at (and read) the square in the bottom part of the mechanism; and the rectangle in the top part of the mechanism.
5 of 8: The lever on the left rotates the bottom part of the mechanism, to expose a new square (with a new rhyme on it). The lever on the right rotates the top part of the mechanism, to expose a new rectangle (with a new rune on it). There are a total of four squares and eight rectangles on the mechanism.
6 of 8: The goal is to match one of the eight runes with each of the four rhymes. When you believe you have found a rune that seems to match the rhyme at the bottom, you should align them so that the rune is directly over the matching rhyme, then press the blue oval under the rune. This will transfer the rune onto the blank rectangle located just over the rhyme.
7 of 8: Don't be discouraged if you don't figure this one out right away, as some of the rhymes could accurately describe more than one rune. Just keep narrowing down possible options for each rhyme, one by one until you have a combination you'd like to try. Don't worry about putting a rune in the wrong place -- if it is not correct, it can be changed later.
