The Elder Scrolls IV: Knights of the Nine Hints

What's so special about this weapon?

  • 1 of 7: The razor is a leveled dagger that isn't particularly powerful physically, but it has a special Daedric Banishing effect on it.
  • 2 of 7: Every time you hit an opponent with the razor, there's a chance that he'll be instantly killed no matter how many hit points he has left.
  • 3 of 7: However, that chance is very low, and depends on your Luck stat and a random factor.
  • 4 of 7: Due to that, it's really not worth it to use the razor in most cases, especially if your Luck stat is low and you have no way to boost it.
  • 5 of 7: You might want to try it on an opponent that you can't beat any other way just to see if you get lucky, but you should save first in case you have to retry several times.
  • 6 of 7: One bad thing of note is that the razor also has a leveled Disintegrate Armor effect. That makes it sound like you'd rather get it when you're high-level (25 or 30), but that's actually a bad thing because the enhanced Disintegrate Armor effect would take a lot more charge, and the razor would have a lot fewer uses before it needed recharging.
  • 7 of 7: Due to this, you may actually want to go after it while still at level 1-4 or so, even though that means all the leveled treasure along the way will be greatly inferior. At least the razor would have over 200 uses before it ran out of charge. (And you can always get another weapon that has a powerful Disintegrate Armor effect on it, like the Akavari Sunderblade.)
