The Elder Scrolls IV: Knights of the Nine Hints
What are my upgrade options?
of 9: The bedroom area is the east room in the bastion. Buying this upgrade will replace the bed with a fancy coffin to sleep in, install a desk and set of shelves with alchemy stuff on them, and put in some drawers and a jewelry box.
of 9: The cattle cell upgrade will put a jail cell with a perpetually sleeping prisoner in the cloister area, west of the door that leads back to the hollow.
of 9: The dark minion upgrade will get you an evil crony who lives in the east room of the main hollow area. Tell him to go murder someone, then do other things for a few days until you get a journal entry saying the dirty deed has been done. Return to the minion's room and check the "Victim's Loot Chest" for your share of the spoils (leveled gold and items). Note that you also gain an Infamy point each time you have your minion murder someone.
of 9: The dining area upgrade fixes up the bastion's central room with a dining table and three cupboards. You can nab some food and silver utensils from them.
of 9: The garden receipt upgrade will put a bunch of harvestable plants in the center of the main hollow area. The ingredients are all geared toward making poisons, and there's a new Chokeberry ingredient that works just like poisoned apples. (Sneak one into a victim's inventory and make sure there's no other food he could eat nearby, and he may eventually eat the poisoned fruit and die.)
of 9: The storage area upgrade puts a bunch of never-respawning containers in the small room that's just SW of the main hollow's garden area. Search the room for pre-set goodies (including in the "Greywyn's Poison Supply" chest that's behind two crates), then store your own stuff there.
of 9: The study area upgrade fixes up the west part of the bastion area, and gets you several skill books and magic scrolls.
of 9: After you buy all the upgrades and the ichor, a bonus container called "Greywyn's Armoire" will be put in the bastion's east room. It contains the Raiment of the Crimson Scar, which is a leveled magic item with many good effects on it, including Reflect Damage.
of 9: If your level is at least 25 when you start this quest (see the link below), you'll get the best version of the raiment, which has a 35% Reflect Damage effect on it. That makes it a major alternative item for those of you who are going for 100% or more in Reflect Damage. Unfortunately, the raiment covers every equippable slot except for sword, shield, helm, and the three jewelry slots.
