LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy Hints
Can you give me some tips for the Minikit Bonus (Hoth)?
of 8: First, if you haven't ever played a Minikit Bonus level, see the general hints below.
of 8: This level is one large circular track. While you'll find the usual torpedo and torpedo dispensers, there are also rollermines on this bonus level, and those offer the best payout.
of 8: You will need to switch to a Snowspeeder in order to tow the mines, the same way that you did in Story mode. I believe you need to find all of the canisters in Episode V, Chapter 2 to earn this minikit.
of 8: The Infinite Torpedoes extra may interfere with towing mines, so turn that extra off for this level, even if you normally use it.
of 8: As you're starting the level, there should be one rollermine dispenser a little bit to your right, on the top of the screen. Grab a mine and start towing it towards its targets.
of 8: The easiest of the valuable targets are the sections of white walls just below and to the right of the dispenser. Each rollermine will blow out at least one section of wall, and generally, if you aim in between two sections, you can get two of the four wall sections with a single mine.
of 8: Go back and keep grabbing mines to finish off this nearest wall. If you'd like, you can grab a mine and try taking it to the right past the green trees to find a smaller white wall. Just make sure to shoot out the green trees first, since they'll cause the mine to explode if you hit them, and it's quicker to use your blasters on those. The little white tree won't fall with blaster fire, but it's not worth the effort to use a mine on it.
of 8: By the time you've flown a bit to the right -- especially if you've mined the next wall over -- the first wall closest to the dispenser should be back. Repeat until you've collected all of your studs.
