LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy Hints
Canisters
1 of 22: Most of these canisters can be found only in Free Play. I will indicate specifically where canisters may also be available in Story mode.
2 of 22: 1) In the first hallways, just after the first Stormtrooper helmet dispenser, the canister should be in somewhat plain sight behind a shiny metal grate.
3 of 22: Use any bounty character and throw a thermal detonator at the grate. It may help to get close and then run away quickly -- I found this easier than trying to aim from a distance. Once the grate has been destroyed, you can pick up the canister.
4 of 22: 2) Underneath the floor in the cargo room near the start of the chapter.
5 of 22: When you go to get the small truck, there will be an access hatch that only small characters can walk through. Go through that hatch, and the canister is on the other side.
6 of 22: 3 -- Also in Story) In the room where you see the Stormtrooper window washers.
7 of 22: Hop in the crane in front of the window, and move the window washers up and down and left and right until they clean the entire window. The glass will explode, and this will let you get the canister on their platform.
8 of 22: 4) In the next hallway, just before you go back "outside" to a larger room.
9 of 22: There is a canister in plain sight behind a grate that requires the Dark Force to open.
10 of 22: 5) Above you at the top of the next room (where you have to open a Stormtrooper door to proceed).
11 of 22: The canister is stored in a floating object on the top right part of the room.
12 of 22: Use the Force to lower the cage surrounding the canister, and you can then double-jump on top of the resulting platform to get the canister.
13 of 22: 6) After you grapple your way across several platforms in the next room, you should be back in a hallway. The next canister is off this hallway.
14 of 22: Look toward the front of the screen.
15 of 22: The canister is on a ledge here, through the window and to the left. R2-D2 can float his way over to that platform and claim the canister.
16 of 22: 7 -- Also in Story) Collect 3 purple boxes in the next hallway, just before you get to the room filled with Stormtroopers, as I've described in the hints below:
17 of 22: Shoot out the semi-circular orange conduits along the wall, and you should find all three.
18 of 22: 8) In the room with all the Stormtroopers just before you reach the Falcon, a canister is on a ledge on the back wall of the room.
19 of 22: Use the Force to build a platform with several of the crates nearby, jump up on that, and then get the canister.
20 of 22: 9 -- Also in Story) On the right side of the room with the Falcon, behind the panel where you found the two droids.
21 of 22: 10) Behind a door on the back wall of the room with the Falcon.
22 of 22: You will need to pull a lever that turns on a vent while solving the puzzles here as you did in Story mode. Once that vent is active, you can float up to a door that only a bounty hunter can open. The canister is behind that door, and you can claim it after a short fight with Vader.
