Mass Effect Hints

How can I get all the way up to the mining camp?

  • 1 of 12: Start driving carefully along, avoiding all the orange lava lakes you come across.
  • 2 of 12: As you near the large area that's SE of a refinery, a large dropship will fly overhead and drop off several geth armatures.
  • 3 of 12: Wait until your shields fully regenerate, then drive on around to the refinery. Naturally, it's heavily defended.
  • 4 of 12: You'll find your progress blocked by a second large closed gate.
  • 5 of 12: Watch for geth armatures as you drive north from the refinery. The first two will be right in your path as you drive along, and the next two will be together up on a ledge way ahead and to the left.
  • 6 of 12: As you turn south again, watch for several geth troopers and a powerful geth colossus on the path ahead. (Be sure to use retreat-and-fire tactics with the colossus.)
  • 7 of 12: Wait until your shields fully regenerate, then drive through the big tunnel you come to, ready to blast a couple of enemies at its other end.
  • 8 of 12: Not far past that is another lightly defended tunnel, followed by some path-blocking rocks that you can't get past in the Mako.
  • 9 of 12: You'll have to park the Mako near the rocks, then get out and proceed on foot.
  • 10 of 12: As soon as you go through the gap in the rocks, be ready for several geth troopers (including rocket troopers) to appear ahead.
  • 11 of 12: After you finish off the initial wave of geth, proceed cautiously along to reach the next geth group, which should be handled similarly. (Watch for geth snipers in and near sniper towers.)
  • 12 of 12: Keep going up the hill, and you'll soon reach the mining camp.
