Refinery Combat Tips
of 9: When you first see the refinery in the distance, stop the Mako and zoom your view so that you can make out the defensive turrets that are undoubtedly already firing rockets at you.
of 9: Hit one with a cannon blast, then machine-gun it until you can fire the cannon again, and so on. Retreat if your shields get low so they can recharge.
of 9: After you destroy the turrets that you can see from extreme distance, move a little closer so you can see and blast some more.
of 9: At one point, someone will suggest using the side path that heads off to the north. Whether you've destroyed all of the nearby turrets or not, you'll need to take that path, since the direct route is blocked by a large closed gate.
of 9: As you round the side path's first corner, look for a turret ahead. Quickly blast it, retreating if necessary to avoid damage.
of 9: As you approach the refinery again, look for geth soldiers to be running around up ahead.
of 9: Hang back and use your cannon to blow them away, filling in with a bit of machine gun fire between blasts.
of 9: When all visible enemy targets are destroyed, drive slowly ahead, ready to quickly blast any remaining hostiles.
of 9: NOTE: Since it's far easier to destroy enemy troops with the Mako, you get less XP for kills than if you were fighting them on foot. The rest of these hints will assume you'd rather do it the easy way, but remember to get out of the Mako for combats if you want more XP for them.
