Mass Effect Hints

Destroy the Thorian

  • 1 of 18: Go to where there's an orange X on the area map.
  • 2 of 18: You'll find a big plant-y thing called a "Thorian Neural Node" there.
  • 3 of 18: Get out your weapon and fire on the node until it "dies."
  • 4 of 18: As you start to move on past that, a cinematic showing the thorian making another asari clone will happen.
  • 5 of 18: Run back down to the room (or adjacent hallway) where you fought the first asari, and take this one and her creepers down when they catch up to you.
  • 6 of 18: Go back up the stairs and on to level 2 of the lair, where you'll encounter several more creepers on the curving walkway.
  • 7 of 18: Raid the weapon locker at the south end of that walkway, then go into the side room with the next neural node. Blast it just like you did the previous one.
  • 8 of 18: Past it, you'll be on level 3, and will have to fight lots more creepers and another asari clone.
  • 9 of 18: In that level's south central room, you'll find the next neural node to blast, plus *lots* of creepers and another asari to kill.
  • 10 of 18: After all that's done, go to the end of the walkway to find a locked medical station to raid, then go back and through the side door.
  • 11 of 18: That'll get you to the room with the next neural node and creeper combat set.
  • 12 of 18: Up on level 4, shoot the neural node to death, then move on past it.
  • 13 of 18: When you come under attack, you'll probably want to retreat a ways to avoid getting surrounded and pounded.
  • 14 of 18: When the way is clear, go up the steps all the way to level 5.
  • 15 of 18: There, you'll need to go around yet another curving walkway to reach yet another neural node.
  • 16 of 18: Blow away its guardians, then destroy it to finally kill the thorian.
  • 17 of 18: Doing so will start a long cinematic that will bring this mission to a close.
  • 18 of 18: When you're ready, return to the docking bay and board the Normandy so you can go through a final cinematic that finishes up this game section.
