Character Creation Tips
1 of 7: If you're new to the Mass Effect series, or just don't have any saves left over from previous games, you'll need to create a new character. Below are some guidelines for doing so.
2 of 7: After choosing your character's gender, you'll need to choose how you want to play the game: action, role-playing, or story mode. Role-playing mode is pretty much the "full experience" mode, with action mode focusing on the combat, and story mode focusing on the story.
3 of 7: After choosing a first name and an appearance, it's time to choose your character's class.
4 of 7: NOTE: If this isn't your first playthru, you'll be able to choose one of the bonus powers you unlocked on a previous playthru.
5 of 7: Next up are your personal history and service history. They have a small impact on your starting reputation value, but not enough to make much of a difference.
6 of 7: After that is "experience with significant combat loss." Choosing the "numerous losses" option isn't advised, since it'll cut down on the number of other characters in the game. Picking one of the other choices will only eliminate the one you didn't pick. (For instance, if you choose Kaidan Alenko, Ashley Williams will be a squad member during an early mission, plus again later on.)
