Mysterious Journey II Hints

What do I do at the Grand Tower?

  • 1 of 5: The center of the tower is really a very strange elevator.  Every time you enter this area, the room will either go up or down.  Note that you can always tell what level you are on by observing how many horizontal bars are on the post in the center.  For the sake of the information presented here, the number of bars shown on the post in the center of the elevator will be used to indicate the floor number.  Therefore, the level where you first entered (which doesn't have any bars) will be called the ground floor, the next one up would be the first level, the next second, etc.
  • 2 of 5: Notice that there are several exits/entrances (into the elevator area) on each level.  If the first level entrances could be labeled "N, S, E, and W"; then the second level entrances could be labeled "NW, SE, NE, and SW".  The direction of the entrances always alternates, with each progressive level, between the two possible orientations.
  • 3 of 5: Entering the elevator from any entrance will cause the elevator to move -- but the amount of movement varies.  At first the movement of the elevator might appear random, but it is not.  You'll need to figure out a pattern to the elevator movement.
  • 4 of 5: The elevator movement varies from one entrance to another, but is always consistent for each entrance.  For example, the entrance where you first entered the tower will always cause the elevator to rise three floors.  But the entrance (also on the ground level) just to the left of that one will always cause the elevator to rise two floors.  It is helpful to map the movement that each entrance triggers.
  • 5 of 5: Your goal at this point, is to get to the top of the tower.  Use your map to help you figure out which entrances to use in order to get there.
