Might and Magic VII: For Blood and Honor Hints
Where can I get more gold?
of 9: If you're finding yourself short on gold, you may just want to tackle some additional quests and collect gold both in the course of completing the quest and in rewards after finishing some quests. Often times, a quest or two can give you more gold than you need.
of 9: In particular, the Arcomage and Obelisk optional quests can provide a lot of gold, although these quests aren't available all that early in the game. You can still get some gold for winning individual Arcomage games, though.
of 9: Donate at the local temple in each town to improve your reputation slightly. You will also get some reputation boosts from solving certain quests.
of 9: If that doesn't work, a good Merchant skill can help. Have a single strong Merchant to buy and sell all of your items, but give as many characters as possible a little in Merchant skills to help keep their training costs down.
of 9: Watch out for high-priced stores and training locations. The stores outside Castle Harmondale often give you very good prices, especially when selling items. Try to buy spells from the cheapest (lowest-level) guild possible. Of course, with a Grand Master Merchant skill, you can buy and sell items at cost, so picking the "right" store is unnecessary.
of 9: You can also try to sell useless items -- especially if you've enchanted them with the Enchant Item spell or Grand Master Fire Aura spell. You might even be able to buy items, enchant them, and resell them in some cases.
of 9: Also, try trading items between NPC's for a little extra gold. If you look around the major towns, you'll find people in their houses willing to sell items for you to re-sell to other NPC's. They'll even tell you where to deliver the items.
of 9: Finally, don't forget the bounty hunts available in all of the town halls or the Arena -- both of which provide gold bonuses for successful completion.
