Might and Magic VII: For Blood and Honor Hints

Do you have any hints about how to fight the droids on the Lincoln?

  • 1 of 6: First of all, note that when you first get to the ship, you should enter turn-based mode and put back on all of the equipment that you had to take off to wear your wetsuits.  Also cast all of the usual protective spells that you have.  In particular, make sure that you have Earth and Fire protection, since that's where the droids' main attacks are.  The droids can do a lot of damage if you're not properly protected.
  • 2 of 6: Of course, all of the usual combat tips apply here.
  • 3 of 6: And again, remember your blasters.  There are blaster rifles (as opposed to the weaker blaster pistols) all over the ship in chests.  While you still might be able to get more overall damage out of a strong fighter with good stats and weapons, the blasters rifles can do a lot of good.  They are accurate and quick, which makes up for their weakness.  Just remember to unequip any other weapons if you use blasters, or else you still may suffer the recovery penalties from the second weapon.
  • 4 of 6: One other thing to note is that the droids aren't very aggressive.  If you leave whatever room they're in, they generally won't follow you, so if you appear to be losing, step out of the room, heal (or wait for Regeneration to heal you) and come back.  It's not a very glamorous combat technique, but it does work.
  • 5 of 6: Also note that Paralyze does work (if not with 100% accuracy) on the droids. If you're on the Path of Light, you can use Paralyze to stop some of the droids from attacking you.  This can be a big help.  Otherwise, you'll have to rely on Dark Magic skills to deal out damage quickly -- the droids are immune to Spirit, Mind, and Body Magic, so you can't Enslave them, for example.
  • 6 of 6: Finally, you can just head straight for the Oscillation Overthruster once you've found it.  There are very few places where droids will actually get in your way, and if you avoid any side paths, you may only have to kill a couple -- avoid or outrun the rest.
