How can I find William Lasker?

  • 1 of 12: His hideout is in the Erathian Sewers.  You can enter the Sewers through a pipe just northwest of Steadwick, at (-18391, 15450).
  • 2 of 12: While Lasker will be friendly to you if you can find him, the other thieves and such in the sewers are not.  Don't feel badly about killing them -- Lasker won't hold it against you when you get to him.
  • 3 of 12: Lasker is fairly well hidden.  Explore the sewers carefully.  A good Perception skill will also help here.
  • 4 of 12: Lasker is located near a room with what appears to be a bunch of randomly-placed pillars sticking out from the floor.  You can reach him via the ledge on the north side of this room, at (622, 14817).
  • 5 of 12: Although it's possible to get to any of the ledges on the south side of the room and use the Jump spell to get to the north by going from pillar to pillar, you can also align the pillars.  The jump from the ground to the pillars, though, is too high -- you must start from one of the ledges.
  • 6 of 12: Start by looking for a way to get to the ledges on the west and east sides of the pillar room.
  • 7 of 12: Head for the central room of the sewers, which has exits in six directions along the edges of a raised platform.
  • 8 of 12: The southwest and southeast exits from this platform take you to ledges overlooking the south sides of long thin rooms that run north-south.
  • 9 of 12: There are levers on each of these ledges that raise the floor, so you can cross to the north side of each room and eventually reach either the west or east ledge of the pillar room.
  • 10 of 12: Experiment with the levers to see if you can line up the pillars -- to make a roughly straight line between the easternmost ledge on the south side of the room to the ledge on the north side.
  • 11 of 12: From left to right, try setting the levers on both ledges to go down, down, up.  Note that the game tends to do strange things if you click on a lever while the pillars it controls are still moving -- often forgetting that you moved the lever at all.  If this pattern doesn't work, you may just have to use trial and error to get the pillars in the proper position.
  • 12 of 12: You can then reach the southern ledge via a teleporter just to the east of the western long room, at (-4712, 9054).  Touch what appears to be a door to be teleported to the eastern ledge, and then walk across the pillar path to get to the other side.
