Guberland
- 1 of 8: As soon as you get to the city, you can do the usual stuff plus train up your Elemental and Light skills with the guys in the NE quadrant.
- 2 of 8: If you haven't gotten a Town Portal skill book anywhere yet, then go to the magic shop (also in the NE quadrant) and use the old "save and then restore if he doesn't have what you want" routine to get at least one Town Portal book. Now that your guys are Elemental experts, they can learn and cast that spell.
- 3 of 8: Drangheim City didn't have a skill book shop, but Guberland does (SE quadrant), so go fish for useful skill books.
- 4 of 8: Fire A'Ghrie from your party and hire Alberik Gusmudssen for his Merchant skill increase. Since it remains with you even if he doesn't, fire him and then go hire Alvar the Clumsy in the Gathering. With him along, you can repair any broken item.
- 5 of 8: While you're at the Gathering, do Jarl Markel's "Beat Ivan the Smart at trivia" quest. It'll get you some quick and easy gold and XP. Also, why not visit the Dook and do Markel's "Convince the Dook to leave Guberland" quest?
- 6 of 8: Yes, there is a black chest with a random item in the Dook's Castle that you couldn't possibly get to yet, but it's okay to go ahead and enter the castle and do stuff. You'll be back before 30 days have passed, and you'll be much tougher then.
- 7 of 8: You don't have to sail away until January 16, so that gives you two full days in Guberland. You might want to visit the Temple of Honk and kill off the wackos in the entry area and/or try taking on the guards in the Dook's Castle. However, I had a lot of trouble with them, so be sure to save before provoking them into a fight.
- 8 of 8: On January 16, take the boat to Lindisfarne.
