Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge Hints

How do I get Captain Marley's piece of the map?

  • 1 of 18: Captain Marley might be related to another Marley you know.
  • 2 of 18: In fact, he's Governor Elaine Marley's grandfather.
  • 3 of 18: Try going to the mansion, and you'll find the map piece on the wall, apparently available for the taking.
  • 4 of 18: So take it.
  • 5 of 18: Well, when you get out of the mansion, you'll be caught by Marley's dog.  Not much you can do about that I'm afraid.
  • 6 of 18: And there's not much else you can do to keep Marley from getting rid of the map.  She'll throw the map out the window no matter what you say.
  • 7 of 18: Go out and try to pick up the map from the ground.  But it's still going to fall into the cliff.  So concentrate on getting the map out of the cliff.
  • 8 of 18: You're going to have to find something that will reach down to the bottom of the cliff to get that map.
  • 9 of 18: That's made for catching things that are at a depth.
  • 10 of 18: Like a fishing pole.
  • 11 of 18: The fisherman on Phatt Island has a fishing pole.  Get his pole.
  • 12 of 18: Then use the pole to "catch" the map.  Yet again, something gets in your way. But at least you're nearly there.
  • 13 of 18: The seagull took the map to the treehouse in the big tree.
  • 14 of 18: Too bad you can't sort through that big pile of maps that the gull's been collecting.
  • 15 of 18: But someone else who's more familiar with Marley's stuff might be willing to.
  • 16 of 18: The same one who caught you with the map in the first place.
  • 17 of 18: You can just pick up the dog from Governor Marley's mansion.
  • 18 of 18: Then take it to the tree and use the dog to search through the pile.  The dog should give you Marley's piece of the map.
