Escape from Monkey Island Hints
How do I get off the island?
1 of 13: Herman's the only other human on the island. Why don't you try to ask him?
2 of 13: When you first meet him, he won't be able to tell you anything useful. Why not?
4 of 13: If you've successfully jogged his memory, you will know who Herman really is. If you still don't, you need to finish this task.
5 of 13: Herman still has more to tell you. Talk to him one more time, and tell him that LeChuck became governor. He'll hand you another gubernatorial symbol and tell you it's the fourth piece of an Ultimate Insult.
6 of 13: Keep talking to Herman and he'll say that you need to build a really big Ultimate Insult to defeat LeChuck's version.
7 of 13: And that means you need to find the three other parts of the Ultimate Insult again here.
8 of 13: You can use the banana picker (with the golden man), the bronze hat, the "world-famous giant monkey head", and the gubernatorial symbol to make a giant Ultimate Insult.
9 of 13: Look for an appropriate place to put the hat and the picker on the monkey head.
10 of 13: Use the bronze hat on the monkey head and the banana picker on its nose. The latter action will open the monkey head's mouth.
11 of 13: If you go inside and look around, you'll find out that your Ultimate Insult needs to be powered up before you can use it.
12 of 13: You'll find its engine room down in the mine in the canyon.
13 of 13: Walk in the mouth passageway, then use the gubernatorial symbol with the prominent slot to the left of the ship's wheel. This will power up the monkey robot, allowing you to leave the island.
