How do I navigate the Mystes O'Tyme swamp?
1 of 17: Before you can successfully navigate the swamp, you need directions.
2 of 17: People say that Pegnose Pete lives in the swamp.
3 of 17: So you should start by looking for directions for Pegnose Pete.
7 of 17: Use the clock with the raft by the swamp, pull out your directions, and you're ready to go. (You'll automatically have a compass.) It might help to write these directions down, since you won't be able to have them out while you're paddling the raft.
8 of 17: As you paddle around, notice how the clock changes each time you enter a new "zone" of the swamp.
9 of 17: These times correspond with the ones on your sheet of directions.
10 of 17: In each zone, just paddle in the direction that corresponds with the time on your clock. These combinations are randomly generated, so you'll just have to read the combinations yourself.
11 of 17: Sooner or later, you'll meet yourself in what is definitely the strangest segment of the game. Pay careful attention to all of the transactions that take place. (I can't tell you what exactly will happen, since some parts change randomly from game to game, and others may change depending on what you do.)
12 of 17: Talk to yourself to make sure that it's really you. Once again, pay close attention to the dialogue exchange that takes place.
13 of 17: Since it really is you, feel free to unlock the gate to let yourself through, then continue on with your navigating.
14 of 17: You'll encounter yourself again, but this time you'll be on the opposite side of the fence, and you initiate the conversation instead of the other Guybrush.
15 of 17: You might notice that if you do anything that wasn't done the last time you met yourself, or do things in the wrong order, you'll cause a rip in the space-time continuum.
16 of 17: Just repeat everything the "other" Guybrush did when you first met him. You'll probably have to start by giving yourself the skeleton key. Make sure you copy all of his moves exactly, and in the proper order. Note that the items are arranged in your inventory in the order you received them, from left to right.
17 of 17: Now, make your way through a couple more "zones" of swamp, and you're out!
