The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Hints

The Paralyzed Barbarian

  • 1 of 7: The barbarian in question is at location 42 on the Ald'ruhn map.
  • 2 of 7: Talk to Hisin Deep-Raed to find out that a witch enchanted him with some disease that paralyzes him.
  • 3 of 7: To release him, you can either talk to him about a Potion of Cure Common Disease while having one in your inventory, or you can cast a spell that cures common disease at him while not talking to him.
  • 4 of 7: Note that the spell will have to be one that is cast on "touch" or "target" and not "self."
  • 5 of 7: If you want such a spell but don't have one, then buy a spell that cures common diseases from a spell seller, and then go to a spellmaker and make a similar spell that affects a "target." Such spell makers and sellers can be found in the local Mages Guilds (Ald'ruhn City and Caldera).
  • 6 of 7: Another way to get a usable spell is to go to Gnisis and get Vivec's Touch from the Temple there.
  • 7 of 7: Or you can just kill Deep-Raed and take the enchanted helm that he would have given you as a reward for freeing him. That works, too.
