The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Hints
Where can I find some ebony staves?
1 of 6: They can be randomly found on dead Dremora and Golden Saints. High-level characters can find a lot of those creatures in and around old Daedric shrines.
2 of 6: If you break into and loot all of the Great House vaults in Vivec, you'll probably find at least one ebony staff (though it's random).
3 of 6: Tholer Saryoni in Vivec's High Fane and Ernse Llervu in Vivec's Abbey of St. Delyn the Wise each have an ebony staff, but you won't want to kill either one of them for it because they're very important people. (Saryoni is integral to the Temple quests and the main quest line, and Llervu is a master trainer.)
4 of 6: Goris the Maggot King in the Venim Ancestral Tomb (location 15 on the Tel Mora map) also carries an ebony staff. Fortunately, he's not really important, even though you might get a message about breaking the thread of prophecy when you kill him.
5 of 6: If you break into Ghostgate's Tower of Dusk vault (see Ghostgate's notes and extras), you can steal an ebony staff off of the table.
6 of 6: If you've built a stronghold for your Great House faction, you can visit Tel Uvirith (location 20 on the Tel Aruhn map) and get an ebony staff from upstairs in both Menas' house and Omavel's house.
