How can I get the key without Gravius taking it from me?
  • 1 of 9: First, locate the key on a shelf near Gravius.
  • 2 of 9: It's setting on the next-to-top shelf, on the far right side (near some candles and a bowl).
  • 3 of 9: If you just try to nab the key, you probably won't be able to right-click fast enough to pause the game and drop the key on the floor before Gravius grabs you and takes it away.
  • 4 of 9: You could decoy him away from the key by grabbing something at the other end of the table, but the "multi-steal" technique described in the earlier Stealing Tip will work much better.
  • 5 of 9: First, drop any stolen items you have on the floor, including the limeware platter from Ergalla's office and anything you picked up from the two side rooms. (This is why I advised leaving that stuff behind at first -- it can take awhile to drop it all now if you picked it all up earlier.)
  • 6 of 9: Move so that you're facing the shelf and can see the warehouse key (and optionally the mazte and sujamma on the bottom shelf). Then right-click to pause the game and transfer everything you want to the floor.
  • 7 of 9: Unpause and let Gravius grab you, then pick up all of your stolen goods from the floor, including the warehouse key, and head outside. Be sure to try out the key on the nearby warehouse door soon.
  • 8 of 9: ALTERNATIVE: If you have a fairly high Short Blade skill and lots of patience, you can kill Gravius with the dagger from the table in the previous building. That way you can raid his body for items as well as steal everything in his office area even more easily.
  • 9 of 9: NOTE: You don't have to steal the warehouse key before exiting the office and starting the game. You can always come back later and do the same "multi-steal" routine, remembering to drop *all* your stolen goods (including ones you have equipped) off somewhere first. Also, you'll want to have 300 gold with you to pay the fine so you won't have to go to jail or resist arrest.
