Where can I find lockpicks early on?
- 1 of 5: In Seyda Neen, you can get an apprentice's lockpick from the table in the Census and Excise Office, plus a journeyman's lockpick from the locked chest in Draren Thiralas' house. Another journeyman's pick can be gotten from Fargoth's stash (see the "Fargoth's Hiding Place" misc. quest to learn how to get that).
- 2 of 5: You can usually find a seller of lockpicks in the Thieves Guild hideouts in the larger cities. For instance, Chirranirr in Balmora's South Wall Cornerclub sells one master's lockpick plus an unlimited number of apprentice's and journeyman's lockpicks (her inventory regenerates every time you buy some of those and then talk to her again).
- 3 of 5: Also, I like Nileno Dorvayn in Balmora's Hlaalu Council Manor since she sells an infinite number of master's lockpicks three at a time.
- 4 of 5: If you really want a grandmaster's pick, you can steal one off the table in Todwendy's upstairs room in Balmora's Lucky Lockup. (Since she's a master trainer, you'll probably want to stand where she can't see you and use the Telekinesis spell to nab the pick and probe from the table.)
- 5 of 5: NOTE: Balmora also used to be the only source of secret master lockpicks, which you could only buy from Hecerinde after gaining several ranks in the Thieves Guild. However, he doesn't seem to sell them anymore, perhaps due to a botched patch or game update of some sort.
