The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Hints

How can I use the Bound spell glitch to duplicate equipment?

  • 1 of 7: WARNING: This is a glitchy process, and can cause game crashes (though those will be kept to a minimum if you precisely follow my instructions). Be sure to save your game in a named slot before you start doing any of the following stuff.
  • 2 of 7: First off, check the Spell Finding list to see where you can buy all the Bound spells.
  • 3 of 7: Then create a constant effect enchanted item with Bound spell(s) on it for whatever type(s) of items you want to duplicate. See my Enchanting Tips for details on how to create constant effect items.
  • 4 of 7: Once you have the constant effect Bound item, equip it from inventory and then unpause the game to get the summoned items to appear, then unequip it to get them to disappear. Keep doing this until something gets duplicated.
  • 5 of 7: When you have all the duplicates you want, drop every copy of every item that was duplicated (or should have been duplicated but wasn't) on the ground. Then equip and unequip your constant effect Bound item once more. That should clear up any glitchiness, and you can safely save your game (in a new slot) and then pick up your dropped items.
  • 6 of 7: After that, equip whatever else you want to duplicate and repeat the above process with it. You can duplicate most armor and weapon items this way, even some super-cool artifacts! (Certain items just refuse to be duplicated for reasons unknown.)
  • 7 of 7: NOTE: The process seems to work best when you enchant exquisite rings or amulets with four different constant Bound spells, especially if they're all armor spells (or one weapon spell and the rest armor). Also, if things aren't duplicating like they should, try first removing every equipped item except those you're trying to duplicate. It's still a glitchy and uneven process, though, so some things may not duplicate when they should.
