The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Hints
How can I become a vampire?
of 8: In the good old-fashioned, traditional way.
of 8: Being bitten by one, that is.
of 8: There are three different clans of vampires, and you can only join one of them in any one playthru of the game.
of 8: Choose a clan, then check the Vampire Lair List to see where you can go to find vampires of that clan. (It's best to go to a lair that isn't the HQ or a renegade's lair.)
of 8: It can be a real pain to let them beat up on you until you're infected (you'll get a message about contracting Porphyric Hemophilia) and still get away alive, but it is doable.
of 8: It does work like a disease, and it takes a few days to actually turn you into a vampire, so you can cure it with a Cure Disease potion, scroll, or spell if you change your mind before Becoming.
of 8: You'll notice a new icon on your effects list at the bottom of the screen for the Porphyric Hemophilia. Keep it there for a few days and then sleep to become a vampire and get all the advantages and disadvantages that go along with it.
of 8: BUG NOTE: The icon sometimes won't stay on your effects list, but you're still infected, and the transformation should still happen on schedule.
