Stronghold
- 1 of 16: Building a place of your own to call home is a big side quest for any Great House you join. You can wait until you're prompted by quest-givers to start a stronghold, or start it on your own initiative once you're a Kinsman in the house.
- 2 of 16: To start things off, find Galsa Gindu at her home in the Redoran Council Hall in Ald'ruhn's Manor District and talk to her about it.
- 3 of 16: She needs a contract and 5,000 gold before she can begin construction.
- 4 of 16: The contract can be gotten from Duke Vedam Dren in Ebonheart's Grand Council Chambers in Vivec. Just give him the promise he wants to get the contract.
- 5 of 16: As for the money, you can raise it quickly by selling expensive armor, weapons, potions, and magic scrolls to the Creeper (see following link).
- 6 of 16: After you turn the money and contract over to Gindu, go do other stuff until you get a journal entry a few days later telling you to check in with Gindu.
- 7 of 16: When you do, she'll tell you to talk to the foreman at the site (location 2 on the Maar Gan map) to see if everything's on schedule.
- 8 of 16: This is just a gimmick to familiarize you with your future stronghold's location, so go out there and speak to Bugdul gro-Kharbush to learn that everything's okay.
- 9 of 16: Report back to Gindu to begin another waiting period.
- 10 of 16: When you report in to Gindu next, she'll tell you to visit Percius Mercius in Ald'ruhn's Fighters Guild and hire some guards.
- 11 of 16: Talk to Mercius to learn that he wants you to rescue a friend of his before he'll cooperate.
- 12 of 16: Once Acques is free, talk to Mercius again to get the guards sent to your stronghold, then report to Gindu.
- 13 of 16: After another waiting period, you'll be prompted by yet another journal entry to see Gindu. She'll report that your stronghold is complete, but there are further improvements that can be made once you're a Councilman or Archmaster in the House. (If you're not yet, then do more quests, including the Redoran Councilor Quests which get you promoted to Archmaster).
- 14 of 16: When you are, talk to Gindu again. She'll send you to talk to Hetman Guls at your stronghold site.
- 15 of 16: You'll learn that to attract more settlers, you need to round up a couple of eligible women to come live here.
- 16 of 16: Once it's finished a few days later, it'll be one heck of a stronghold!
