The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Hints
Nerano Manor Key
of 9: In this, Habasi's second thiefly quest, you need to steal a key from one of two people.
of 9: Ondres Nerano himself, who lives in Nerano Manor, is bound to have one on him.
of 9: You can try picking his pocket, but don't kill him, or you won't be rewarded for the quest.
of 9: You could fight Nerano in hand-to-hand combat until you knock him out and then quickly grab his key, but this won't work unless your Hand-to-Hand skill is very high.
of 9: A better target is Sovor Trandel, who's hanging out at the Council Club.
of 9: It's perfectly okay to kill him, and doing so is even part of a quest. Once he's dead, raid his body to get the key.
of 9: Or you can get Sovor's disposition up to 70 or more, talk to him about Nerano Manor, and then bribe him with 10 gold to get his key. That's a lot safer for beginning characters than trying to kill him.
of 9: Go turn the key in to Habasi to complete the quest and get 500 bucks.
of 9: This doesn't mean you can't loot the upper floor of Nerano Manor yourself, of course. You don't even need the key. Just go right in the front door and on up the stairs.
