Myst III: Exile Hints
What do the red pegs do?
1 of 5: You can put the red pegs in any of the holes on the two wheels, except obviously for the one that's already plugged.
2 of 5: Try putting the pegs in the wheels. Then pull the lever that summons the crystal ball to see what happens.
3 of 5: Whenever a red peg (not counting the pre-plugged one) reaches the 6-o'clock position, the ball will be sent into the air, wherever it is.
4 of 5: Then, the circle on the right rotates (this one clockwise) until it reaches another red peg.
5 of 5: The ball travels back to the left side one last time, until you reach the third and final peg.
