Myst III: Exile Hints
How do I open the locked circular door above that ladder?
of 12: The lock on that door is normally powered, but right now, it's turned off.
of 12: It might help if you figured out how to get down the ladder that's next to the door.
of 12: When you moved the sluice gate, you did more than just drain out the room below.
of 12: You also diverted the water towards a large wheel.
of 12: The wheel might supply power if it were spinning.
of 12: Starting from the ladder that leads to the controls for the sluice gate, go one step into the tunnel toward the locked door and look through the window that's to your left.
of 12: You can see the wheel here.
of 12: You can also see the controls to get it spinning.
of 12: Just click on the wheel to extend the flaps that make the water push the wheel.
of 12: The handle on the door may now be glowing green to indicate that you can open the door. If it isn't, you need to make sure that the power from the wheel is reaching the door.
of 12: Go back down the ladder near the door, and press a button at the bottom of the ladder to open the door to another control room.
of 12: Turn the crank in this room to raise a gear. If you go back up to the door, the section of the floor in front of it should now be spinning and you can open the door.
