Myst IV: Revelation Hints

How can I find the colorful door?

  • 1 of 4: The colorful door will only be available after you have completed the steps in the following puzzle:
  • 2 of 4: If you have drained water from under the bathysphere and you've gone down the stairs beside the bathysphere, but you only see a plain wooden door rather than a colorful one, then you have not yet drained enough water from the pool under the bathysphere.
  • 3 of 4: The steps in the following hint will help you get the water lowered enough.  Go through the steps one at a time, in the order they are given, making certain to do every step as described.  If you do all 12 steps the wooden door will automatically open.
  • 4 of 4: 1. Raise the bathysphere.
    2. Open the bathysphere door (to be sure any water in it is drained out).
    3. Close the bathysphere door again.
    4. Look at the bathysphere door to be sure it is closed.
    5. Lower the bathysphere.
    6. Raise the bathysphere.
    7. Open the bathysphere door.
    8. Look at the door to be sure it is open.
    9. Lower the bathysphere.
    10. Close the bathysphere door.
    11. Raise the bathysphere.
    12. Look at the bathysphere to be sure the door is closed.
    After step 12 -- and this is important -- do *not* re-open the bathysphere door. If you do, then all the water that was removed from the pool will be dropped back into the pool.
