Myst IV: Revelation Hints

What do I do in the fireplace in Atrus' room?

  • 1 of 10: There won't be anything you can do at the very beginning of the game. 
  • 2 of 10: You'll need to restore the power first.
  • 3 of 10: Shortly after the power is restored, the walkway is destroyed, and you'll have to figure out how to get to the bedroom again.
  • 4 of 10: Have you climbed inside the fireplace to look around?  Have you tried to press the red button?
  • 5 of 10: You should notice a couple of strange bumps on the two side walls.
  • 6 of 10: The bumps could not be activated before, but now they can.
  • 7 of 10: If you can't see the grid of squares on the top half of the wall, make sure to press the red button just over the fireplace opening.
  • 8 of 10: The bumps point, with light, to several squares on the wall.  The ones the light points to are important.
  • 9 of 10: If you touch a square on the wall, the four lights around that square turn red.
  • 10 of 10: The goal is to get all the squares red that the lights are pointing to -- without getting any squares red that the lights are not pointing to.
