Myst V: End of Ages Hints
I saw Esher again in the Great Shaft itself. Where did he go?
1 of 8: He told you to travel to the room at the end of the first elevator. (If you haven't seen him in the Great Shaft yet, these hints may help you.)
2 of 8: By the "end" of the elevator, he obviously means what's at the bottom of the elevator.
3 of 8: But of course, you need to get the elevator here first.
4 of 8: The handle outside the elevator, to the left, will recall the elevator to this level if it's not already near you.
5 of 8: Now, walk into the elevator.
6 of 8: There's a handle above you when you're inside the elevator, which will let you raise or lower the elevator.
7 of 8: Pull the handle to reach the next level down, then as you walk around that path, you'll find a room off to your left (as coming from the elevator).
8 of 8: There's a linking book on a pedestal here, which will take you to Direbo, the "Rest Age" that Esher mentioned to you.
