Nancy Drew: The Haunting of Castle Malloy Hints
How do I shear the sheep?
of 13: You can't do this until you've discovered a need for some wool. When you complete the gear puzzle in the helmet in the library --
of 13: -- you get a third dollhouse puzzle. To solve it, however, you need a doll you don't have yet: a little sheep. Do you remember seeing a half-finished sheep doll somewhere?
of 13: It was in the hut in the middle of the bog. Go back there to get it --
of 13: -- and discover that it's missing its stuffing. Right next to it is an empty box marked "Wool," so that's what we need to stuff it with.
of 13: So the first thing you need to do is gather the sheep into the paddock, at Donal's request.
of 13: Once that's done, go talk to Donal again and ask him about shearing the sheep. NOW you're finally ready to start.
of 13: To start this process, stand inside the paddock so you're looking at the whole room, then blow the whistle to get a sheep into the shearing pen.
of 13: This automatically sends you to the machine's control panel at the left. Look at the readout to find the sheep's "group colour" and family, then look at the sheep to gauge its mood.
of 13: Now look at the plate on the control panel and find the numbers for these factors. Add the numbers together and enter that number on the keypad. Then sit and watch the sheep get sheared.
of 13: For example, if the readout shows three blue stars (blue=9) and the family name Ronan (Ronan=17), and the sheep is happy (happy=12), you add those three numbers (9+17+12) to get 38. Enter that to get a half bag of wool and a sheep with a decidedly non-ovine haircut.
of 13: If you got the number right, you can then click on the yellow box at the right to see how much wool went into the bag. If it looks like the sheep got sheared, but there's no wool in the bag and the sheep squawked while it was being sheared, it means you entered the wrong number.
of 13: It takes two successful shearings to fill one bag. After two sheep, empty the wool bag or the next sheep's wool won't be collected.
of 13: After the third bag is full, take a handful of wool from the last bag.
