2 of 8: Before the game starts, you're in Nancy's bedroom at home. The book titled "How to Be a Detective" has all kinds of helpful stuff about how to maneuver through the game, so it's a good place to start.
3 of 8: Examine everything. When you have entered a new surrounding, look at everything. Read everything you can read; it might be important. Do not leave the area until you're sure you've looked at everything. It is very important to always examine your surroundings; otherwise you might miss a clue that will help you progress through the game.
