  • 1 of 8: If this is your first time playing a Nancy Drew game, you're probably wondering what to do. If you've played a Nancy Drew game before, you probably don't need to keep reading.
  • 2 of 8: Before the game starts, you're in Nancy's bedroom at home. The book titled "How to Be a Detective" has all kinds of helpful stuff about how to maneuver through the game, so it's a good place to start.
  • 3 of 8: Examine everything. When you have entered a new surrounding, look at everything. Read everything you can read; it might be important.  Do not leave the area until you're sure you've looked at everything. It is very important to always examine your surroundings; otherwise you might miss a clue that will help you progress through the game.
  • 4 of 8: Always have a pad of paper handy to solve puzzles or to write things down to remember them later.
  • 5 of 8: Talk to everyone. Tell them everything you can. If you have nothing to say to them, complete a few steps then come back later. Keep checking in on people; they might have something new to say.
  • 6 of 8: If you're playing Junior Detective, you can always take a look at your checklist to see what you have to do next. If you're playing Senior Detective, you do not have a checklist for help, but you can always look in your journal to see if you are missing something.
