Nancy Drew: Ransom of the Seven Ships Hints
How do I find the right cave?
1 of 6: On page 3 of his journal, El Toro mentions that the bats in the cave have very large ears and eat insects. Read the display in the resort lobby to see which bats he might be talking about.
2 of 6: The description best fits Waterhouse's Leaf-nosed bats. The display says their cry is registered at 16 KmHz on the batseeker.
3 of 6: Climb into a cave, then pull the batseeker out of your inventory (don't use the walkie-talkie by accident or you'll be transferred to George and have to climb up here all over again), change the setting to 16 KmHz and see what happens.
4 of 6: If the batseeker just issues a static sound, you have the wrong cave. Back out of the cave and try again.
5 of 6: There are five caves total, all of them to the left of where you start. Keep trying them all till you find the one that makes the batseeker chirp at 16 KmHz.
6 of 6: If you want, you can discover what kind of bats are in each cave. Go into a cave, turn on the batseeker, and move the dial till you hear bat chirps instead of static. This will gain you a star at the end of the game, if the monkeys don't kill you with rocks first.
