Are the books in the cellar important?

  • 1 of 3: Not as far as I can tell, though the subtitle of the science book is pretty funny. ("Science Can Be Fun -- though odds are you'll find this book exceedingly tedious," by Dr. D. Troit. Yeah, I've read that one.)
  • 2 of 3: The last book is about the United States, and it describes the states that existed in the 1930s. It's kind of interesting, and you might think it would be helpful for the puzzle about the wooden map of the U.S. --
  • 3 of 3: -- but since it doesn't include any actual maps, it's about as helpful as a zipper on a hamburger. Still, the writing is faintly interesting, in an academic way.
