2 of 9: -- ask her about it. She doesn't have a copy of it, unfortunately. Maybe her rude assistant can help.
3 of 9: Call back after you hang up with Savannah to get Logan again and ask him about it. He's not that friendly, but at least he doesn't hang up on you this time.
4 of 9: Logan is initially not too eager to help, but after a bit he comes up with something he wants from you, and Nancy will immediately suggest a trade, little mercenary that she is.
5 of 9: Logan says he wants to know what Bess would like as a gift. Unfortunately, if you talk to Bess, Nancy doesn't ask her what she wants. But it doesn't end there.
6 of 9: After a bit, Logan calls back to say that he wants to buy Bess some clothes and asks you to send him a picture of the kind of stuff she likes. You can do that using the avatar program on Yumi's computer, if you can figure out what kind of clothes to put her in.
7 of 9: Do you remember a comment Bess made about shopping with Yumi? She said they went to a store that was all pink and she loved it.
8 of 9: Go to Yumi's computer and make a new model with blond hair like Bess and all dressed in pink. You can do any combination of clothes you like, as long as all the pieces are (shudder) pink. When you have it the way you want, send it to Savannah's phone number. (Or if you're not sure if you've got the right combination of clothes, send it to Bess's number, then call her to see what she thinks.)
9 of 9: Call Logan once you've done that (or maybe he'll call you) and ask about the book, and he says he'll give it to Bess. Go on about your business, and Bess and George will call soon to tell you they have. You should be able to pick it up from Miwako at the front desk of the ryokan soon after that. If not, go do something else for a bit to give it time to arrive.
