Nancy Drew 24: The Captive Curse Hints
How do I open the glass box outside Karl's office?
of 9: When you looked at the box, Nancy said a couple of pieces were missing, and as usual she's right; you need two more pieces of glass, one blue and one green, before you can open the box.
of 9: The blue piece is in the banquet room. Walk up close to the stained glass window and click on the blue square at the lower right corner.
of 9: The green piece is in the glass room, inside the cupboard at the far end of the room.
of 9: Now all you need to do to open the glass box is arrange the pieces of glass in the frame at the left so they look exactly like the picture at the right. Read to the end of this hint for step-by-step instructions on how to do this.
of 9: First, look at the box on the right and see if you can pick out all the colors. There are some that are quite close in shade, like the ones I've called dark orange red and light orange.
of 9: Next, notice that the pieces are layered. For example, in the junior puzzle, the yellow square is on top of the green square, which is on top of the aquamarine square. If you put the pieces in the right place but in the wrong order -- green on top of yellow, say -- the box won't open.
of 9: Finally, some of the rectangular pieces are vertical, and some are horizontal. Left-click to pick up a piece, and right-click to rotate it.
of 9: Okay, it's time to start. Look at the box at the right and figure out which is the bottom-most piece, the one with no other pieces under it. Pick it up, rotate it if you need to, then place it where you think it needs to go. Then go on to the next piece.
of 9: If you're having trouble getting the pieces to go where they ought, here's how I did it:
