Nancy Drew 30: The Shattered Medallion Hints
How do I get money to buy things?
1 of 6: Well, it's not money, it's points. You'll need to buy a couple of things in the course of the game, and you can only buy things from the Auction House if you have at least 50 points plus the price of the item, so it's always good to have some extra points. There are a couple of ways to accumulate points:
2 of 6: -- Complete tasks for the show. You get points for completing challenges and getting a piece of the medallion, and there are other tasks that will get you points as you go along. Your overall standing is pretty much set by the way the game plays out, though the exact number of points you have is up to you.
3 of 6: -- Win the two board games in the Puzzle Palace, Raid and Monster (both from Nancy Drew #24, The Captive Curse). You get 10 points for every game you win and can play as many times as you can stand to. There's also a glitch connected to these two games that will let you add up the points endlessly, if you want.
4 of 6: -- Find or buy cards that give you points. There are two 100-point cards and two 50-point cards in the game, and there are also a couple of cards that deduct points from other teams. Mean! but it is nice to win, I suppose. To use these cards, take them to the scoreboard in the Base Camp area and click them on the team you want to add or subtract points to.
5 of 6: -- Finally, if you happen to stumble across an Easter egg or so, you can also click them on your team name on the scoreboard for 30 points each. This is a nice boost, but the egg disappears when you use it like this, so you might want to save your game before you use it.
6 of 6: Be aware, though, that all the time you're out there earning points, Bess is in camp with nothing to do but buying things. So you may find your points going down instead of up sometimes. Don't get mad at her; she can't really help herself.
