Nancy Drew: The Creature of Kapu Cave Hints
Are there any Easter eggs or things from the other games?
of 8: That's a very good question.
of 8: There are a bunch of things from other games, though not nearly as many as there were in the last game. Look for Krolmeister, for example, in a number of spots.
of 8: There are also a bunch of funnies, like the names on Dr. Craven's PDA -- I really want to meet A. Surprise, don't you? And the tikis and masks have the most amazing faces; I think it's quite possible that they are caricatures of people involved in the game.
of 8: There are also three, well, mistakes. One is the wonderful Fishing Glitch that will let you earn more BI bucks than you can ever use without having to spend hours gathering shells. There's another glitch that lets you pick up Dr. Craven's PDA after he wakes up -- then slips you back in time to him being asleep again, and then waking up to kick you out. No fun!
of 8: The other mistake is what the movie makers call a continuity error: Nancy leaves Mike's office in the bright clear sunshine; at the same time, a raging hurricane-level storm washes out the bridge. When Nancy arrives at Quigley's camp five minutes later, she's once again in bright clear sunshine, unaware that anything has happened until Joe calls and tells her. Now that's a microburst!
of 8: As to Easter eggs, ah, that's an interesting one. One of the possible nicknames you can get on this game is Super Snooper, "for finding at least two Easter eggs." But where are they? I've never been able to find even one, and I've tried ... well, all kinds of things. I've made every necklace, bought every souvenir, opened every locker, searched every pixel of every scene for hidden hotspots, and played Wiki Tiki until I was singing that song in my sleep -- and nothing.
of 8: On the other hand, I don't know about this nickname because I got it fairly; I know about it because I found the picture on the disk that comes up if you get it. And that could mean that it isn't really possible to get this nickname because there aren't any Easter eggs, and the programmers just put this picture on the disk to play with the minds of people like me who look on the disk. Hey, you win, guys -- ya got me! Now where are the Easter eggs?
of 8: If you find an Easter egg in this game, write and let me know. If I can make it happen in my game too, I'll update these hints and give you credit. The search is on!
