Nancy Drew: The Creature of Kapu Cave Hints
How do I catch fish?
1 of 7: To catch fish, you need two things: a fishing rod and some bait.
2 of 7: The rod is free, which is kind of surprising considering how eager Mike is to charge for everything else; it's at the end of the dock just waiting for you. If you're fishing because Mike asked you to catch him 6 ulua fish, he'll give you an endless supply of bait, so you don't need to buy any more.
3 of 7: But if you're fishing because you just want to, you'll have to buy some bait. It's sold at the table next to the necklace stand and comes in three types: Goo EZ for 6 BI bucks, Zippy's Wiggle Bait for 8 BI bucks, and Red Herring Super Bait for 12 BI bucks.
4 of 7: There are four kinds of fish available to be caught; the yellow ones bring in 1 BI buck, the thinner grey ones bring in 2 BI bucks, the larger dark grey ones get you 1 BI buck, and the uluas are worth 4 BI bucks each.
5 of 7: You can catch fish with any of the baits, but the more expensive the bait, the more expensive fish you'll catch -- that is, the more you pay for bait, the more uluas you'll catch and the more money you'll make. If you want to spring for the fish attractor, it speeds up the fishing process considerably but doesn't get you more of the richer fish.
6 of 7: To catch fish, go to the end of the dock and click on the rod. Click on the bait you have, then click it on the hook to bait it. Go up to look at the ocean, then click on the water to the right or left of the rod. (It doesn't matter which side -- the fish appear randomly on both sides.) Watch the red and white bobber; when it goes under, quickly click on the rod to reel in your fish. If you click too soon or too late, it'll get away.
7 of 7: Repeat until you have the fish you want or use up the bait, whichever comes first! If you're catching fish for Mike, take them to him; if you're catching fish for money, take them to Pua to cash them in.
