What is the solution to the checkerboard puzzle?
1 of 6: Some call this the "chess board" puzzle, but it is -nothing- like chess. In fact, it is like no other board game I have ever played.
2 of 6: The object is to move the round disks into their matching "home" squares. If you back out of the puzzle, it goes back to the beginning, so work with it a little to get a feel for how it is played.
3 of 6: To move a circle, hover your mouse over the top of it until you get arrow cursors for up, down, left, or right (depending upon where you point it). Then click with the arrow.
4 of 6: When you move a circle, it scoots all the way in that direction, only blocked by the darker solid squares, a yellow bar, or the edge of the board. You will be using those blockades, as well as the other disks, to help you get the circles "home".
5 of 6: I had the most luck sending the yellow circle home first, followed by the blue and so on. There are many ways to solve this puzzle. Trial and error may work for you, but if you're having trouble, keep reading for step-by-step directions (with illustrations).
6 of 6: Choose the difficulty level you are playing. (This puzzle is completely different for Junior Detectives than it is for Senior Detectives.)
