What about the four dog figures in the cabinet and the doggie clock?
1 of 14: Have you talked with Sally about the clock on the wall and the dog figures in the cabinet?
2 of 14: She thinks they're cool. The dog figures seem to be small statues of the four dogs owned by Mickey Malone, the notorious gangster and original owner of the cabin. The doggie clock is beautiful, but it doesn't seem to tell time very well. Perhaps the figures and the clock have some purpose you must discover.
3 of 14: The clock is permanently attached to the wall, and the figures are permanently attached to the shelf in the cabinet. Moving the hour hand of the clock seems to trigger the doors; the first door opens, followed by the third door, then the fourth door, and finally the second door, each revealing a doggie. The dog figures in the cabinet can apparently be rotated so that they face to the left, right, back, or front...except for one figure that is stuck.
5 of 14: Experiment with the dog figures and the doggie clock. Do the actions of one affect the other in any way? Pay attention to the details. Do any details remind you of anything you have seen before?
6 of 14: Do you see anything in the doggie clock that reminds you of the key words from the poem?
7 of 14: The plants or animals from the poem can be found somewhere in the doggie clock.
9 of 14: You want to determine the names of each of the four doggies that appear in the doggie clock, which season goes with each doggie, and which plant or animal needs to appear behind each doggie. You might also want to take note of the color of each plant or animal, which could be useful later.
10 of 14: Using what you learned from the poem, you should now know which direction each dog figure in the cabinet needs to face.
11 of 14: The dog figures in the cabinet need to be facing the following directions: Vitus: facing left Iggy: facing front Lucy: facing right Xander: facing back
12 of 14: Of course, one dog figure is stuck in the wrong position, and you need to free it.
14 of 14: Use the sandpaper to free the stuck dog figure, and then set each of the four dog figures in the proper direction (listed above). Doing so opens a secret door next to the rotting floorboards.
