Why can't I operate the well pump?

  • 1 of 6: Normally, operating the handle of the pump should bring up the water from the well.  Since this is not happening, there may be something you need to do to the pump to activate it.
  • 2 of 6: If you have not yet fired up the motorboat, don't worry about the well pump at this time.
  • 3 of 6: If you have been to the ranger station, you may have browsed the database there.  It has all sorts of useful information.
  • 4 of 6: One item of information explains how to prime the pump.
  • 5 of 6: Potable, or drinkable, water is required.
  • 6 of 6: Prime the pump by pouring water from the water bottle into the pump, place the bucket below then pump spigot, and then operate the handle of the pump to bring up the water from the well.
