How can I thaw out the frozen prisoners?

  • 1 of 11: You'll need something that can deliver a lot of heat and force to their icy prisons.
  • 2 of 11: You need a special device that's lying around in the battlefield area.
  • 3 of 11: Check out the NE section.
  • 4 of 11: Most of the catapults and other siege engines have been destroyed, but there is one catapult that remains functional.
  • 5 of 11: You need to get that across to the NW section so you can use it on the ice prisons.
  • 6 of 11: However, you need to be a very large and strong creature in order to hurl the catapult across the chasm that separates the NW and NE sections.
  • 7 of 11: So use the sensei's amulet to turn into an earth elemental and then do it!
  • 8 of 11: Revert to normal form and use the good old demonic hook to grapple yourself back across to the NW section, then try out your new catapult.
  • 9 of 11: When you use it, you can either fire it or rotate it clockwise or counterclockwise.
  • 10 of 11: Whenever you fire it and it hits an ice prison, the prison is melted and the prisoner is freed. Most of the prisoners are the old devil generals that Mephistopheles imprisoned for betraying him, so fire with caution.
  • 11 of 11: To find the Knower of Names, either keep freeing prisoners until you get lucky, or figure out the riddle that the Knower of Places gave you.
