Is the altar on level 2 of any use?
1 of 7: Only if you have something special to use with it.
2 of 7: First, fully loot the treasure room up in the NE corner of level 2.
3 of 7: If you can get into the trapped chests, you'll find that one of them has two black pearls in it.
4 of 7: Click on the altar while carrying the black pearls to get the option of putting one on the altar.
5 of 7: When you do, your currently-equipped main weapon will gain the new "on hit" power of Strength Drain DC-24. (You'll also get 500 XP.)
6 of 7: Switch to another weapon and repeat with the second pearl to get another weapon enhancement and 500 more XP.
7 of 7: NOTE: Black pearls are very valuable, and can be sold to merchants for a lot of gold. This might be a better option for you if adding the Strength Drain effect makes your weapons unusable. See the note about item level restrictions in the hints about Rizolvir's weapon upgrades.
