Duergar Room

  • 1 of 11: Tell your henchmen to stand their ground near the secret door that leads back to the control room.
  • 2 of 11: Head east to mirror bracket "a" and pick up the mirror that's in it.
  • 3 of 11: Immediately run back west, get back into the control room, and turn the magic balls up to full force (two clockwise turns of the dial).
  • 4 of 11: With that mirror gone, there's nothing to keep the fireballs from bouncing into the duergar room and toasting them severely.
  • 5 of 11: Go back to the ball-firing mirror room and wait in a safe spot for awhile.
  • 6 of 11: Then go carefully down the hall toward the duergar room, keeping against the south (right) wall to avoid fireball damage.
  • 7 of 11: You need to do this because the fireballs don't do nearly as much damage to the monster targets as they should unless you're standing at least fairly close to the room being fireballed.
  • 8 of 11: If any duergar see you and go invisible, that means they're coming after you.
  • 9 of 11: Either stand and fight them as they appear next to you, or run back to your henchmen's position quickly if you need their help (then sneak back toward their room again).
  • 10 of 11: When you can't see any survivors in the duergar room from near its entrance, go turn off the fireballs.
  • 11 of 11: Then get your henchmen to follow you into the duergar room and finish off any last survivors.
