Neverwinter Nights Hints

Is there any point in killing all the goblins in the Training Hall?

  • 1 of 4: Not really. You do get a few experience points (XP) every time you kill a goblin, but that won't really help you any since the guy in the Academy area who tutors you on leveling up will give you however many XP you need to get to level 2 when you talk to him. Also, when you reach the stables and talk to Fenthick, he'll give you however much XP you need to make it to level 3 after you agree to help him.
  • 2 of 4: Of course, you could always kill every goblin just so that you can get some treasure off of their remains. Some of them will have healing potions, and a few may even have useful low-level magic items.
  • 3 of 4: If you're wanting to maximize your XP for the Prelude, you could make your way quickly to the stables, only killing the creatures you have to along the way. Then, after you level up to level 3, go back through all of the accessible areas and kill all of the remaining monsters. That way you'll start Chapter 1 with more than 3,000 XP, and will be able to level up to level 4 sooner.
  • 4 of 4: XP BUG NOTE: Those who aren't averse to using a game glitch to gain lots of XP and level-ups should do the "City Core Optional Quest: Animal Rescue" as soon as you can after starting Chapter 1. Its XP glitch can be used to level up several times fairly quickly.
