Neverwinter Nights Hints
How can I free Nax?
of 10: First, visit him in his cell in the SE corner of the dungeon and talk to him about it.
of 10: NOTE: You may have to rotate your view a ways before you'll be able to click on him to talk, since you can't do so between the bars of the magic cell door.
of 10: Nax'll tell you that there are facilities in this dungeon for summoning a powerful water elemental that could set him free.
of 10: The libraries hold the secret of the summoning process, so check them out.
of 10: Both the library in the NW corner of the dungeon and the one in the SE corner (near the prison cells) have a book on a bookshelf that tells exactly what to do.
of 10: The summoning pool is in a room a ways west of the prison cells.
of 10: Click on the pool and put the slaad's tongue in it, then cast Melf's Acid Arrow at the pool.
of 10: When the water elemental appears, talk to it to see what you can have it do.
of 10: You could free Nax, but you could also ask for a magic item instead.
of 10: Freeing Nax gets you 100 XP, and asking for the magic item gets you a ring that can cast Invisibility three times a day. You decide which one you want more.
