How can I cast Melf's Acid Arrow if I'm not a magic-user?

3 of 5: Search the NE rooms.
4 of 5: The Ring of Melf is in a chest in the room with the alchemist's apparatus that can be used to make a magic item. (BTW: The two ingredients the apparatus needs are in nearby rooms. Check all containers carefully, including corpses.)
5 of 5: To use the ring, just right-click on it in inventory, choose to cast its once-a-day acid arrow, and then click on the target.
